Social Lunch #3
Stories around the table, between food and innovation
Impact Hub Experience is also social lunches and chatting around the table. We don’t want the emergency for the COVID-19 to make us lose our good habits, so we have organized four lunches with special guests who will talk to us about food and innovative solutions to produce, distribute and consume it.
The lunch guest Irene Carrara of Fi.Co.S
Irene’s story is a story of migration in reverse. Milanese of origin, always attracted by the South. She studied economics of development and anthropology, always looking at different forms of land management. After giving up the idea of being able to change the world with international cooperation, together with her family, she returned to Italy, determined to direct her energy to our country. Sicily is her husband’s homeland, he calls it a contradictory land, rich but impoverished, difficult but welcoming. As soon as she landed, she worked as a trainee on the feasibility study for the project of Filiera Corta Siciliana (Fi.Co.). This experience has fuelled her hope and enthusiasm towards Sicily, the conviction that, by running together, we can really move mountains. Fi.Co.S. is the meeting place between the demand and the conscious supply of products, ecological services and information in Sicily. Irene tells us about the short supply chain, as a Milanese who fell in love with it at first sight and decided to make it her daily bread.
